This group was started in 2006 by a mom and dad with two adopted kids of a different race and two biological kids. The purpose of the group is to meet and connect ourselves and our children with families that are similar to our own. We have grown to 30+ plus families in the Montclair, New Jersey (and surrounding) area. We are all connected by adoption; many through DYFS, some domestically and some internationally. We are a welcoming and inclusive group open to all adoptive multiracial famili …
We started this group for adoptive families to be a source of support, for parents to share experiences, hear each others' kids stories and get together at play groups and other fun social activites. The families can also swap resources and other educational tidbits

We welcome adoptive and foster families, and prospective adoptive parents, who live in (or near) Jersey City or NYC. Members should feel free to post events. Spread the word! That said, we do not allow businesses of any type to join. This is not the place to promote your adoption agency, law firm or other business.

This is a newly formed support group for women of color who wish to or have already chosen to become foster and or adoptive parents to a child or children in their own community. It is our purpose to support the lifestyle goals made by our members and the agency they are affiliated with. We will never pass judgment on birth mothers. Our mission is to develop an environment where we can share concerns, challenges and ideas of raising children in "care" while maintaining one's own family, and a c …
This group is open to all members of the adoption triad...adult adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth parents. Our group has been in existence for over 30 years (we have had several name-changes along the way), and has evolved into a wonderful, caring environment for anyone that was adopted, has adopted, or placed a child, as well as the families and friends of those mentioned. We discuss various adoption-related topics, as well as share our own experiences such as, but not limited to, search, …
Same-sex couples can now marry in New York and many are celebrating this news. It is important to learn about the rights and responsibilities that come with marriage for everyone as well as the differences for same-sex couples that currently exist because the federal government does not recognize same-sex marriage. Join this group to learn about legal information for same-sex couples relating to pre-nups, post-nups, adoptions, will packages and be informed about all aspects of family law and how …
This meetup is "going to the dogs"...Pugs to be precise!!! Okay, so you're owned by a Pug; that goes without saying! I am too, as are many others. Why do we love these big-eyed, wrinkle-faced Pugsters so much? There are so many reasons, & that's reason enough to join the NNJPE! Our steadily-growing group of friendly Pugaholics & their Pugs meet for outings once a month (with "special events" tossed in for good measure), in order to provide our furbabies (& ourselves) some time for socialization …

Since 1944, the Westfield Newcomers Club has served as a vehicle for new residents to get to know one another and feel at home in their new town. A non-profit volunteer organization for women and their families, the club also welcomes those who have had a recent lifestyle change, such as marriage, adoption, birth of a child, etc. - you don’t have to be new in town to join Newcomers! Our goal is to help one another transition from that hectic feeling of “just moved in” to the comfort of being “a …

Our aim is to solely provide Help (in whatever form) to a variety of needs, such as Organizations that assist children. So any kind of fundraising or visiting or "adopting" a childrens ward and working with them in what they think is good for the children to raise spirits is one angle. I also love dogs and there are many shelters because of the many problems of overbreeding, crossbreeding, abuse and abandonement and so on. Connecting with the ASPCA would be best to determine ways to help in the …
